Bursary Applications for the International Conference for Hyperemesis Gravidarum 2026 are now open for those from Low to Middle Income Countries
The International Conference for Hyperemesis Gravidarum (ICHG) is being held in Bergen, Norway on the 19th-20th November 2026. The Bikkja Trust is providing bursaries for researchers, clinicians, patients, charity leads and those working to improve care, treatment and support for people affected by hyperemesis gravidarum.

Low-middle income country bursary applications
We are now accepting bursary applications from attendees based in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Applications are open from 15th August to 31st October 2025.
Bursaries may cover:
Travel costs to attend the conference
Conference registration
Accommodation for 2 nights (18th–19th May) at the conference hotel
Meals: Dinner on 18th May; breakfast, lunch, and dinner on 19th May; breakfast and lunch on 20th May
We welcome applications from patients, early-career researchers, PhD students, and healthcare professionals.
We appreciate the visa process can take time to process and we will be reviewing these applications first to give you as much notice as possible.

Bursaries for International Attendees (NON LMIC COuntries)
From 1st October 2025, we will be accepting bursary applications from attendees NOT based in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Bursaries will generally cover conference registration costs, which include:
Accommodation for 2 nights (18th–19th May) at the conference hotel
Meals: Dinner on 18th May; breakfast, lunch, and dinner on 19th May; breakfast and lunch on 20th May
In exceptional circumstances, bursaries may also cover travel costs. We encourage applicants who need additional financial support to seek funding through their institutions, organisations, or personal crowdfunding.
ICHG 2026 Bursary Eligibility Criteria
Applicant Type
The bursary is open to:Patients or patient advocates
Advocacy group representatives
Early-career researchers
PhD students
Healthcare professionals (midwives, doctors, obstetricians, etc.)
Financial Need
Applicants should demonstrate an inability to cover conference costs without support.
Priority is given to applicants from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) for full bursaries, including travel costs.
Contribution to the Conference
Applicants actively contributing through research presentations, posters, workshops, or other roles.
Participation in discussions or engagement activities will be considered.
Knowledge Sharing / Dissemination
Applicants should have a plan for sharing insights gained from the conference within their organisation, research community, advocacy group, or through publications/social media.
Equity & Inclusion
Priority is given to underrepresented groups or those with limited access to international conferences.
Encouragement for applicants from countries with fewer resources or less access to professional development opportunities.
Other Considerations
Commitment to abide by the ICHG 2026 Code of Conduct and Terms and Conditions.
Ability to attend the full conference and submit a post-conference report within 8 weeks of the conference.
